Squadron Organization

Due to the large size of Hanscom Composite Squadron, our 70+ senior (adult) members and 40+ cadets have traditionally met on two separate nights and, in this way, operate almost like two separate squadrons.

The senior members and Monday night meetings are overseen by a deputy squadron commander, the Deputy Commander for Seniors.  The squadron is further subdivided into 4 flights: A, B, C, and T (training), each led by a Flight Commander who is an experienced member of Civil Air Patrol.

The cadet program at Hanscom Composite Squadron is overseen by another deputy squadron commander, the Deputy Commander for Cadets.  This officer manages the senior member (adult) staff that primarily works with the cadet program and works with the Cadet Commander and his/her cadet staff to implement the cadet program at our squadron.  Unlikely many youth organizations, Civil Air Patrol empowers its teenaged members to run the program to the maximum extent possible, planning meetings and activities, conducting training, evaluating cadets for promotion and staff positions, and more!
